As a child, Mr. Ramirez grow-up in the construction industry. Going down a couple of generations, his Uncle David with International Builders in Culver City, CA inspired his mother to work with him under his belt as a teenager and educated her in the construction industry.
His father (Dr.Hugo Ramirez) who was a doctor in South America, Colombia was at family party where he met his mother (Doris S. Ramirez) and later married her in Bogota, Colombia, which both of them moved to Rhode Island in the 60’s till an opportunity rose in Houston, Texas in the 70’s and continued his practice till the late 80’s, since then been retired seeking his ultimate goal on Uterine Transplant with his son Edwin Ramirez, M.D. As Mr. Ramirez’s father perused the Medical Industry, my mother became a bored house wife with 4 children with skills as a Psychologist, and Construction so she perused the Construction Industry and assisted with the development of Vista Village and started developing on her own with Glen Sargent with Pasadena River Oak, which his parents had to donate Jana Ln which is now Space Center to the city in order to be able develop the Master Plan Development from Jana to Redbluff.
Ms. Ramirez (mother) started a newspaper company in the mid 80’s which it was a family participation for the children to wake-up at 4-5am to distribute news papers around the neighborhood in their green station wagon as my mother wanted to venture into the New Paper Industry. Although writing was her passion, construction dominated her career, by developing Santorini I, II, III, Colombian Village, which Eric Ramirez was the Plan Reviewer, Building Inspector for Colombian Village Architectural Committee. In addition, Mr. Ramirez parents built the 1st Birthing Clinic in Pasadena, TX in the 80’s and large Softball field behind Mc.Coys on Redbluff. All this experience Eric Ramirez growing up to Construction Industry.
During Hurricane Ike, Mr. Ramirez was a contractor finding himself garnering a deeper understanding on how Insurance Companies operate. Within the next few months, he would acquire to become an Insurance Adjuster, till he saw how FEMA Adjusters pay scale and how it was unfair to the insured due to increasing the damages will lower the percent of the Insurance Adjuster’s commission, so Mr. Ramirez become a Public Insurance Adjuster’s license.
As Texas is not a licensed contractor state, Mr. Ramirez felt that he would need to establish himself in this industry, by graduating as a Master Builder with the National Association of Home Builders. Still not satisfied, he would go on to acquire the knowledge of city building inspectors by becoming a Residential Building Inspector with the International Code Council. To this day, Mr. Ramirez prides himself on possessing as much knowledge of the industry as possible, with hopes as one day becoming a Commercial Building Inspector, which will consider him as a ICC-Combo Inspector.
